The Future: Batteries Included

Man has always created visions the future with optimism that technology will provide us with gleaming new horizons, whether it be the glorious highways of the General Motor’s Futurama exhibit at the World’s Fair or the technological marvels of Epcot in Disney World. Now we have a new vision of the future orchestrated by Elon Musk. We can dream of commuting at supersonic speeds along the Hyperloop, jetting off to Mars with SpaceX and motoring guilt free in the comfort of our Tesla electric vehicles. In a world soaked in abundant energy all we have to do is accept the gift of light provided to us by the sun. Nicholas Masterton, from the Green Futurology department of Unknown Fields takes us on a journey aboard the Gigaloop through the incredible world of Edison. Travelling at 3,000 km/h we witness the wonders of a sustainable energy utopia through the eyes of green-tech evangelists. We pass through underground Mega-farms, artificial beaches, climate controlled rainforests, endless solar canopies and alight at the Lithium Rush Museum, the epicentre of the electric revolution.
