DIP-17
The proposal negotiates the relationship and the tensions between domesticity and learning (learning for children) within the contexts of Shanghai. The project deals with two fundamental issues: 1. The place and the role of the child within the city and the society; 2. The dialogue between learning space and play space.
The project examines the relationship between the children in society and the city; the fundamental relationship between the physical, intellectual and their social development by suggesting a typology of domesticity based on the collapse of boundaries between learning and living, where the domestic is challenged.
The proposal assumes a place for discovery, freedom, and giving potentials for autonomy and emancipation as well as a place to confront the determined and normalized adulthood.
