INTER-04
A monument's strength and symbolism in the skyline is transient, the 1905 story of the separation of the church and the state in France physically manifests in the juxtaposition of the Sainte Chapelle against the Courts of Justice.
The project metamorphosises in time, reflecting it's present appropriation, the ghost of its past dominant presence in the skyline, and the unknown power struggles of the future.
The project dives under the skin deep impression of the Sainte Chapelle 's success, being celebrated for her beauty; and addresses the hidden void of being stripped of her function as a church due to an alteration of fate by the French Revolution and the 1905 Law.
The project showcases how the skyline of the city could bring to light milestones and discourses of the city. What we see may not be true representations of the past, present or future, especially in Paris where in a fixed moment, the exaggerated or undermined monument is shown. How does the skyline reflect history and progress; triumphs and injustice?
