PUBLICATIONS

Enshrined within the AA’s founding charter of 1847 was the mandate to promote architecture through publishing. AA Publications continues this legacy with a series of titles covering all aspects of architectural culture. Among our 2014–15 books is a new title in the popular Architecture Words series: Flash in the Pan by the historian Sylvia Lavin. This is complemented by Colquhounery: Alan Colquhoun from Bricolage to Myth; Ludwig Leo: Ausschnitt; and the two-volume Small Architecture / Natural Architecture by Kengo Kuma. Forthcoming books include Memo for Nemo by William Firebrace; In Progress: The IID Summer Sessions, edited by Irene Sunwoo; Mis-Architecture by Didier Faustino; and the two-volume anthology, Cedric Price Works 1952 – 2003: A Forward-minded Retrospective, which brings together for the first time all of the projects, articles and talks by British architect Cedric Price. In addition to these titles we have produced two new publications with our independent imprint, Bedford Press: Architecture Without Content by Kersten Geers and Auto-Destructive Art: Metzger at AA, by the artist and political activist Gustav Metzger. Lastly, this year we have again published two issues of our esteemed journal AA Files, which continues to promote original writing on architecture through a rich and eclectic mix of architectural scholarship and ideas from all over the world.
