DIP-11

Reviewing the existing urban street typologies and educational systems in London, the project respond to the lack of attention to the incompleteness of the under-used spaces and mis-fit teenagers who do not fit into the normal education curriculum.

Proposing a Street Academy within the area, re-activates under-use facilities and re-defines a new street typology within the city. The main anchor of the academy sits in the left-over incomplete space on top of the Metropolitan line, remained from the cut-and-cover constructions. Learning from the Segal structures, the proposal encourages teenages to participate in the construction process, and the activity will be continued as the years go by. A guidebook is also generated for the misfit teenagers, to get lost, explore and learn physically in ever-changing cityscape.
